26/2 hot (formerly known as Bikram)

This yoga series is a challenging 90 minute practice that improves physical strength, flexibility and balance while enhancing mental clarity and focus. It consists of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises performed in a heated room. Each posture stretches and strengthens muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints. The postures also stimulate the organs, glands and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to the body and restoring systems to healthy working order. The heat accelerates the healing process by warming the muscles, increasing circulation, preventing injury and cleansing the body by flushing out toxins through the skin.

In time, you will learn how to focus your mind and control your breath leading you to work harder, deeper and calmer. As you learn how to focus and breathe more effectively, you will realize the true meaning of yoga: a union of body, mind and spirit.

There are numerous benefits from practicing Bikram Yoga. This yoga builds strength, balance and flexibility by stretching and massaging the spine, muscles, tendons, and joints. Lung capacity is expanded, bones are strengthened and made more flexible. Regular practice (3 or more times a week) results in the healing and repair of serious illnesses, weight loss and peace of mind.

Forrest Yoga

Forrest Yoga is renowned as an intensely physical and internally focused practice that emphasizes how to carry a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life.  The practice challenges students to access their whole being and to use Forrest Yoga as a path to finding and then cleansing the emotional and mental blocks that dictate and limit their lives.

“I developed Forrest Yoga as I was working through my own healing.  I took poses and modified or created new ones to address today’s lifestyle physical ailments.  For example, the ailments that our bodies are manifesting due to our lifestyle – lower and upper back pain, neck and shoulder issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, intestinal disorders.

We also crave and need challenge, adventure and a daily diet of delight.  In my own healing quest, I recognized my loss of Spirit.  Something I now see in others – this modern day sense of bereft Spirit.  Through Forrest Yoga you get your physical health and strength and also a place in which to welcome your Spirit back home.  And by this I do not mean a spiritual practice but rather being your authentic self.” - Ana Forrest, creator

Forrest Yoga does not require strength or flexibility; it only requires a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and respond honestly. The practice is founded on four pillars -- Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit.
